Sharing and Giving
Banner Cross Methodist Church supports various charities, some of which are charities run by the Methodist Church. Others are international, national or local. The Methodist Church charities supported include the follwing:- - Junior Mission For All (JMA) - Methodist Homes For The Aged - Methodist Fund For World Mission -Methodist Church Fund For Home Mission - Methodist Relief And Development Fund Other charities that the Church supports include the following:- - Fair Trade. This year we are also supporting the Kilombero Rice Project. - Kilombero Rice - Suporting Malawi farmers. - Operation Christmas Child which is run by Samaritan's Purse. Shoe boxes are filled with toys, toiletries, etc. and dispatched from church to Smaritan's Purse. - The Church sponsors two children through the Bible Lands charity. -The Church held a Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Blooming Great Tea Party . - Blind Children's charity. There is a collecting box in Meeting Room 2 for used postage stamps. Every stamp has a value and is used to support this charity. Please leave some of the envelope around the edge as it is trimmed before being sent to the charity. The Church supports the Archer Project by collecting cereals, and other food items as part of our harvest celebrations. An extra collection is made during the Holy Communion Service for charities which the church has decided to sponsor. Details can be found in Banner Headlines and on the Latest News and Events web page. The Church runs a Christmas Fair each year and gives half of the proceeds to a charity.
